Nameless Exiles II EX

Objective 1: Eliminate all enemies

Objective 2: Rescue and secure one hostage, without using any consoles, all within 5 turns.

Recommended Echelon(s): AR/SMG (x2)

Objective 1

Yeah, remember last map and how I was talking about the decently strong Smashers? Now we need to fight them. At least we can soften them up, I guess? We want to use the console to gate SMASH and soften up the enemies that come with the Smashers. Without that, it's a fair bit more difficult to clear the Smashers here. So let's get started.

On turn one, we need to do some setup. We have enough AP to start with to get a fair amount done, so let's get rollin'. Deploy your first combat echelon and move it up so we can get moving towards the hostage. Deploy a second echelon and move it onto the Heavy Heliport.

For turn two, you want to take your first echelon and rush to the hostage with it. However, we won't be rescuing the hostage, as our priority is getting to the console. If we don't, the gates will be forcibly broken and we won't be able to use them to SMASH. Swap with the hostage and get on the console. Use the console to open both gates, then end your turn.

On turn three, it's time to make use of those gates. Spam the button that opens them and closes them on the Smashers so we have an easier fight. Once you've done it to your satisfaction, engage both of the Smashers with your two combat echelons. At this point, the remaining enemies should be clustered in the bottom right corner of the map. Use both of your combat echelons to clean up the stragglers and that should finish the map up.

Objective 2

So we have a list of requirements that looks like a challenge run over here. Thankfully, this is actually the easier of the two objectives, since you don't need to engage the Smashers. Hurrah. So, for this, we need to grab our hostage and make our way back to our starting point. If you have a Parachute Fairy...well, it will be very easy, so I'm not going to cover its usage here. I'm sure you can figure that one out easily.

On turn one, we need to do some setup. We have enough AP to start with to get a fair amount done, so let's get rollin'. Deploy your first combat echelon and move it up so we can get moving towards the hostage. Deploy a second echelon and move it onto the Heavy Heliport.

For turn two, take your first echelon and rescue the hostage. Now we need to deal with the Smashers blocking our way back home.

On turn three, we want to take our second echelon and move it through the gate the Smashers...smashed up in the middle of the map where our first echelon is. The purpose of doing this is to bait the Smasher into going to the middle of the map to attack our second echelon, while we sneak past it with our first echelon. Start moving your first echelon off to the bottom right of the map, but be sure to keep your second echelon in a position where the Smasher will prioritize it over the other one.

Turns four and five should have you using your first echelon to go around the back of the Smasher and back to the Heavy Heliport we captured at the start. Just be sure to keep your second echelon out of harm's reach, or retreat it if it gets attacked by the Smasher.
