5-γ6 Hour of Grief UX

Objective: Get Erma to the marked node
Failure Condition: Erma dies

For this map, we're being chased by an Ares mech and we need to make it past quite a few enemies to get to a marked node with an NPC echelon. The annoying part of this map is that the Ares mech will gain additional moves per turn when it steps on the little orb statue. The first time he steps on it, he'll be able to move twice per turn, and the second time will let him move three times per turn. Very fun. On our side, the NPC echelon can...split itself up. While it doesn't sound particularly helpful, we'll definitely be using it for the clear.

To start things off, we want to deploy our dummy echelon. We'll be losing the two Heliports we start with, so we want to... tip the odds in our favor a little. Use it to parachute to the closed Heliports up on the top right of the map. Be sure to land on the left one, so you surround capture the other. Now, move Erma to the left one node and deploy your real echelon on the now-unoccupied Heliport. Swap it with Erma and have it engage the Cyclops to the left. After it's dead, move your echelon one more time to the left. Then move Erma to the left two nodes. End the turn there.

On turn two, retreat your dummy echelon and redeploy it on the starting Heliport. That will bait the Ares mech away for a turn. Have your echelon move over to the left and grab the explosive. Move back and then swap with Erma. Move up to the rubble and toss the explosive on that. Move Erma back to where she started. End the turn there.

On turn three, the rubble will have been cleared out, so you can proceed up. Move your echelon up to the orb statue, then up to the left. Move one more node to the left, parking it next to the stationary Cyclops. Burn your remaining AP on moving Erma up to the Radar Tower where the rubble was.

On turn four, take our the stationary Cyclops to your left, then move back and move down to the Dactyl. Take it out then head to the right to intercept the other Dactyl. Move Erma up and to the left. End the turn.

On turn five, we'll be finally using Erma's split function here. Move her to the left one node and use her function to leave a dummy echelon on the left, where the Cyclops used to be. This will cut her CE, but leaves a dummy echelon that can bait the Hydra death stack out of our way. We can't really do much more aside from set up for further turns now. So, move Erma down one node and move your echelon to the node below Erma. 

Turn six will have us bait the other Hydra with Erma's dummy echelon. Swap her with your echelon and move her to the left, up, then use her clone on the node to your left. Move her back to where your echelon was at the start of the turn. End the turn there.

Turn seven gives us a straight shot to the marked node. Run over there with Erma and you'll clear the map.
