Old Rain I EX

 

Objective: Survive 3 turns, then Elimination and capture marked Radar Tower

Failure Condition: AK-15 dies

Recommended Echelon(s): RF/HG (x2), AR/SMG, Dummy

Echelon Limit: 6 Griffon Echelons


This map is split into two parts. The first bit is the first two turns where the enemies on the bottom half of the map are weaker and you don't really have much of an objective aside from survive. The second bit is after that where AK15 comes in and we can start working on the rest of the map. The idea for this is that you want to kill as many of the enemies as you can at the bottom half of the map while they aren't as strong, then get going to the top half of the map and abuse buff towers to kill the rest. 

Speaking of buff towers, they also deal with the Commanders that seem fairly strong, so you don't need to worry about them. So, let's begin.

To start things off, we want to deploy an RF echelon and an AR echelon. We want to take our AR echelon off to the right side of the map, so have it start on the right Heliport. Move it to the right to engage the Punisher. Deploy another RF echelon in its place. Swap with the AR echelon and then move the RF to the right another node. Move your AR echelon to the right as well. End the turn.

Turn two will have us try and take out a few of the enemies at the bottom half of the map. First, we want to move to the bottom right node with the RF echelon that's off on the right. Move it two nodes to the right so it's on that node specifically. It'll flip into a Heavy Heliport later. Deploy a dummy echelon from the empty Heliport. Use your remaining AP to kill anything within reach of the first RF echelon and your AR echelon. I personally moved the RF echelon up two nodes. End the turn when you're done.

On turn three will start the second part of the map. AK-15 will be deployed at the top of the map and the Heavy Heliport will spawn in. Move your RF echelon off it by going to the node to the left. Deploy a HOC on it so you have some fire support. Depending on what's nearby, you may want to move your AR echelon to the right and swap to the HOC to take on whatever is near. We mostly want to clean up any stray random AI movement enemies at the bottom of the map this turn. Do your best to handle where ever they may be. Just be sure to use appropriate echelons for each enemy. I would just recommend that you try and have your AR echelon end near Grey so we can fight her next turn.

Turn four will have us start moving up to the top half of the map. First, we want to activate the buff tower on the left with AK-15. Move her to it, and try not to engage any enemies. Once you're there, activate it and use it. This retreats a bunch of the Commanders. Bring your HOC up to support your AR echelon, then engage or get near Grey. You should be able to down her. 

From turn five and on, it's mostly going to be cleanup. We want to move AK-15 down towards our own echelons so she isn't in danger of dying. I'd leave her on the marked Radar Tower, personally, but aside from that, it's just murder whatever is left on the map. Move your AR echelon up to take on any Nytos near AK-15. If there are any stray Nytos near the bottom half of the map, use your RF echelons to down them.

Keep pushing your AR echelon up to the other buff tower at the top of the map. We want to get to it and use it to retreat the remaining Commanders left on the map. Once that's done, kill any remaining Nytos to clear the map.
