Second Contact EX

Objective: Engage the refugee

Recommended Echelon(s): AR/SMG

Echelon Limit: 1

Your goal for the map is to engage the refugee up at the top of the map. However, she's behind the locked gate, making things (kinda?) harder. The gate is controlled by a console in the middle of the map--you can't see it as you start the map, but it's just hidden. So, we need to use that console, then head over to the gate to finish out the map.

The main obstacle for this map is the turret structures. They fire upon you when you walk past nodes marked with a lock-on icon, dealing damage equal to a percentage of HP to all dolls in your echelon. They also fire if you start or end your turn on top of a lock-on icon. They ALSO change where they're targeting, so a previously safe node can be fired upon if the turret rotates onto you. If you're strong enough, you could probably just ignore the mechanic entirely. But if you're not, well, time to play it safe.

I'd recommend using a parachute fairy for this map, since it speeds it up a bit, and is mildly safer. It's possible without it, but I'll be writing this guide assuming you have it. Because you should. You get one for free.

So, to start things off, deploy your echelon and then engage the enemy to the left of your starting point; we don't need it eating up all our AP. After clearing it, parachute up to the closed Heliport near the top of the map. Move down two nodes and end the turn. End the turn again.

On turn three, move to the right and reveal the console. Go up to it and use it. Move back to where you started the turn.

On turn four, move up two nodes, right one node, then go onto the gate, which reveals the refugee. End the turn and then engage her on turn five to clear the map.
