CAR

CAR
Machine Gun ★★★ Our writers didn't care, so neither should you

There might not be anything to say about CAR. But there is definitely something to say about the Mercedes Benz E-Class Sedan. The most intelligent E-Class family of all time welcomes a powerful new member to the dynasty. The E400 Sedan model arrives this year, boasting a 3.0L V6 biturbo engine producing 329 hp and 354 lb-ft of torque — the same powertrain that currently drives its E400 Coupe, Cabriolet and 4MATIC Wagon cousins. Paired with the 9-G-TRONIC 9-Speed automatic transmission and DYNAMIC SELECT, it promises a bracingly smooth way to experience uncommon luxury. Naturally, the 2018 E400 Sedan continues the tradition of E-Class brilliance. Harmonizing advanced automotive intelligence with awe-inspiring interior design, its first-class furnished cabin puts our advanced vehicle systems right at your fingertips — even as its world-class innovations continue to push the boundaries of what's possible in the world of automotive intelligence. "Car-to-X" Communication enables the E-Class to exchange information with similarly equipped vehicles — effectively allowing it to "see" around corners and through obstacles to detect potential hazards. Driver Assistance Systems — including Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC®, Active Steering Assist and Active Lane Change Assist — feature intelligent cruise control: They help keep you between the lines, and can even help you shift between them. Inside, the E-Class cabin provides an environment of pure comfort and responsive technology. Flowing lines and vibrant screens provide a striking visual display, while touch controls, aromatherapy and tailored seats indulge all of your senses at once. It's a vehicle that demands to be driven, and more than lives up to the dream. Look for the E400 4MATIC Sedan at your Mercedes-Benz dealership this winter, with an MSRP of $58,900.

CETME Ameli

CETME Ameli
Machine Gun ★★★★ Core fodder

A Christmas tree! Will be her primary job at your base probably. Suffers from the curse of an MG that lacks a passive, a first burst-active like hunting impulse, or usefulness during the day. She has a unique that makes her better than base MG4, which is... not saying much. Unfortunately that unique is also no longer available.

Mod MG4 has some uses now so uhh....goodbye Ameli. Merry Christmas, you're a tree.

Claes

Claes
Machine Gun Special Extremely accurate to the anime and manga (which is not a good thing)

Props for accuracy. She spends the animoo's story just living in the dorms and only coming out for tests or really weird situations where they cant spare bodies, and she's basically the same in the game - she'll be in your dorms a whole lot. She also has three unique items that affect her passive but otherwise all do the exact same thing. She isn't completely useless, but there's not much reason to pick her over other MGs that don't have finnicky mechanics, because you frankly will not need that many MGs anymore.

FN Herstal Mk48 Maximi

FN Herstal Mk48 Maximi
Machine Gun ★★★★ Usable

Pretty much a 4 star LWMMG. Has Hunting Impulse, which is basically the 2nd best non-unique MG skill. (But there's absolutely insane unique MG skills, so that's not saying much anymore) Has slightly lower firepower than LWMMG, but has 1 more shot in the mag to make up for it.

Fusil Mitrailleur Modele 1915 CSRG (Chauchat)

Fusil Mitrailleur Modele 1915 CSRG (Chauchat)
Machine Gun ★★★★ Arguably better than MG4

On KR and CN, it had the curse of coming up after Lewis, who was basically better in every meaningful way. As of this writing, Isomer is coming up on EN so it isn't AFTER Lewis gun, but...

Her base stats aren't actually bad. Her problem is, as always for MGs, her skill. She has serviceable performance if a fight goes on long enough, which is about four or more magazines. The only problem with that is she won't beat Negev or Lewis in those situations. She's at least better than MG4, although her armour buff is lower.

General Dynamics LWMMG

General Dynamics LWMMG
Machine Gun ★★ Usable

Korea calls her "Ram-G" because pronouncing LWMMG as a word is hard, apparently. Performs like a 4star. MK48 has the same skill as her, in case you want an upgrade later down the line. Good stats marred by low max ammo count. Probably more useful than most of the 3 star MGs.

She has a mod now, which you can see here

General Dynamics LWMMG Mod

General Dynamics LWMMG Mod
Machine Gun ★★★★ She's a better LWMMG, but now with more utility.

She actually gets some fairly hefty stat increases in her mod, with Mod 2 hitting as much FP as M2HB. The issues that 2 stars normally face (low skill values compared to higher ones, etc.) are pretty solved thanks to being upgraded to a 4 star, and it also gives her extra base ammo which helps out a lot. Overall a cheap mod to get, and honestly you get a fair bit of value off even just Mod 1.

She's pretty much an all-rounder MG, and with the Mod 2 skill, technically you're not limited to just SGs, but uh... the shield values are so low otherwise that it only really helps armored things, though I guess some people might find a use for that anyway. MATH BIT: Her Special Equip actually isn't awful, but tbh you're better off with an EOTech in most cases.

Her original form can be found here.

Heckler & Koch MG5

Heckler & Koch MG5
Machine Gun ★★★★★ Usable, but powercrept

Has the skill that makes M2HB so good (but with better numbers!), but with a little less attack in exchange for a non-garbage Accuracy score and having 16 max rounds (instead of 15) with a maxed gold ammo box, making her really good. Probably the best general purpose MG right now.

IWI NEGEV

IWI NEGEV
Machine Gun ★★★★★ Niche uses

The cursed MG that eats your ammo and calls you a Nazi for having pathetic logistics.

Fixes to the game have not been kind. She used to be pretty good back in the days of Reload Cancel, tearing apart armored bosses and enjoying high bonuses on reload. Those things are gone and there are now MGs that do her job better. Maybe she'll get a mod one day that'll actually help.

Kord

Kord
Machine Gun ★★★★★ Probably will be a primary for many tryhards

She has extremely high firepower that gets reduced by her skill, with the lowest accuracy of any 5 star MG, and a mere 9 round base capacity. What you get in exchange for this is an amazing two-part skill that provides piercing without any stupid strings or conditions to start. Yes, her AP values drop, yes her FP is reduced by the skill, but this won't matter in most contexts where you'd actually want her. You start the fight with piercing and have the option to go into a single target mode that ups her acc and firepower.

Now, her stats in single target mode don't seem exceptional, but they're more than enough for general work to get her to the battles where she would be good (assuming there are any for that map, this is still on you to get her to those), and also she has the benefit of it working from the get-go without any timing issues.

Like anything with piercing you need to position her properly, or else you waste everything. This is super important because piercing is basically the entire reason you use her to begin with, so make sure you look at what formations the enemy actually has first and position her based on that. Seriously. if you're tryhard enough to use her but not tryhard enough to figure out your enemy? You're probably retarded. Don't be that guy.

Basically you want her shooting through or across enemies, such that you get as many hitbox contacts as possible.

M1895 CB (Potato Digger)

M1895 CB (Potato Digger)
Machine Gun ★★★★ Good

With gear, she effectively has a 45 round mag, although shots after her "normal" ammo capacity decrease her acc while upping her FP. This may be good or bad depending on what you're shooting, but she's perfect for low or 0 def enemies that you normally throw MGs at. This is pretty good, but not particularly great compared to the more modern MGs.

A quirk though is if she moves after beginning to go into her reserve ammo, her gun will be considered "empty" and she will need to reload.

M1918 BAR Mod

M1918 BAR Mod
Machine Gun ★★★★★ She's alright, but she's really showing her age and also costs a lot for what you get

There was a two-year span where BAR Mod was unquestionably one of the best MGs in the game between her great skill and super good early reload cancel frames, that even resulted in debates over whether or not to use an ammo box for maximum early burst. EN skipped that period entirely and introduces her alongside one of her replacements.

Now, she's still decent at first mag fire, but she's really expensive for this, essentially making you pay for a full 4-star Mod for slightly better performance than M2HB. In the long term, she's outperformed by Lewis, who is introduced in Isomer.

So yeah... she's been replaced at half her job and she's really expensive to build up for the other. If you like her a lot though, she's not the worst Mod to spend on.

NORINCO QJY-88 (Type-88 Machine Gun)

NORINCO QJY-88 (Type-88 Machine Gun)
Machine Gun ★★★★★ Usable

Because we need more things named Type-88 clearly.

Has both active and passive bits to their skill. Her active mode is basically an FP up - you've seen this before. Her passive mode is based on moving around. By default, she's in LMG mode and fires from the shoulder, and has increased movespeed. Her accuracy however, suffers a debuff while in LMG mode (although thankfully her acc stat isn't awful). Once she sits still for 6 seconds though, she sets up her bipod and goes into HMG mode, which gives her an acc BUFF and extends her belt by 2 shots. She switches back to LMG mode if made to move.

Equivalent to Alma. Alma will win early volleys (first 2 mags) but Type-88 will deal more for extended (3+ belts) fights.

PK Light Machine Gun

PK Light Machine Gun
Machine Gun ★★★★ Powercept but usable

Once a darling 4 star MG with good 1st mag performance, a good skill and decent performance. Her unique gear is pretty decent even. Unfortunately she got powercrept by later MGs like Kord. If you need an MG early on for some reason though, she's pretty ok.

PKP Pecheneg Light Machine Gun

PKP Pecheneg Light Machine Gun
Machine Gun ★★★★★ Good

High end MG with good damage potential. Chance to fire an extra shot with every shot, and that has extra damage and can crit (it's not an autocrit, but can crit, see notes). At lvl10, it's actually very steady. With her unique gear, DPS is still extremely high vs single targets. However now we have bullshit MGs like Kord and the like, and being able to murder multiple enemies per shot is the current hotness for mobclear.
