Machine Gun ★★★ Core

....She's cute.... And she has a red beret?

Those are literally the only things that she has going for her. Low firepower makes her skill eh, not that it matters because she takes too long to startup her skill to begin with. For such a mediocre performance, she costs every bit as much as a better MG to field. As for practical matters, she has no merits on the battlefield whatsoever. Her exclusive doesn't do much to salvage her firepower, as it's still pretty low. You have far better picks than her, even with it.

PM1910

PM1910
Machine Gun ★★★★ Another Entry to the "First Belt or Die" Club

Comparable to the Browning Potato Digger. There must be something about early model machine guns. Her skill gives her an extra long belt that activates three seconds in, and unlike Potato Digger, who sacrifices accuracy and gains firepower, she instead sacrifices reload time while gaining accuracy. While the extra reload time is a pain, she does buff other dolls while reloading instead of being useless. The accuracy boost is nice, but not a game-changer. It may help vs. enemies with a moderate amount of evasion though, given typical MG accuracy is kind of mediocre.

PKP Pecheneg Light Machine Gun

PKP Pecheneg Light Machine Gun
Machine Gun ★★★★★ Good

High end MG with good damage potential. Chance to fire an extra shot with every shot, and that has extra damage and can crit (it's not an autocrit, but can crit, see notes). At lvl10, it's actually very steady. With her unique gear, DPS is still extremely high vs single targets. However now we have bullshit MGs like Kord and the like, and being able to murder multiple enemies per shot is the current hotness for mobclear.

PK Light Machine Gun

PK Light Machine Gun
Machine Gun ★★★★ Powercept but usable

Once a darling 4 star MG with good 1st mag performance, a good skill and decent performance. Her unique gear is pretty decent even. Unfortunately she got powercrept by later MGs like Kord. If you need an MG early on for some reason though, she's pretty ok.

NORINCO QJY-88 (Type-88 Machine Gun)

NORINCO QJY-88 (Type-88 Machine Gun)
Machine Gun ★★★★★ Usable

Because we need more things named Type-88 clearly.

Has both active and passive bits to their skill. Her active mode is basically an FP up - you've seen this before. Her passive mode is based on moving around. By default, she's in LMG mode and fires from the shoulder, and has increased movespeed. Her accuracy however, suffers a debuff while in LMG mode (although thankfully her acc stat isn't awful). Once she sits still for 6 seconds though, she sets up her bipod and goes into HMG mode, which gives her an acc BUFF and extends her belt by 2 shots. She switches back to LMG mode if made to move.

Equivalent to Alma. Alma will win early volleys (first 2 mags) but Type-88 will deal more for extended (3+ belts) fights.

Mk46

Mk46
Machine Gun ★★★★ no lol

She's annoying as fuck to farm without a 5* arti and HS2000 and has the lowest FP among MGs. The skill has lower FP boost in exchange for more Acc. On an MG with shit FP. Brilliant. Did I mention she's a second volley MG? Yeah. Into the bin you go.

MG42

MG42
Machine Gun ★★★ Core fodder

With MG34, this was Germany's primary machine gun for WW2. You may also note that they lost that war.

MG4 Mod

MG4 Mod
Machine Gun ★★★★★★ Useful for Ranking at Mod3, Meh at 1 and 2

With a lot of the enemies MICA loves to toss at us now, MG4 mod has seen a lot more use as of late. She does, however, take a ton of investment (all her equipment, mod 3, etc) to get her to that point. Is it worth it? Probably. She's still an MG though, so she's not going to be pulled out as much as a good AR or RF.

Her ability to reduce enemy Firepower ONLY comes when equipped with SLAP rounds, which she only gets at Mod 3. Before then, meh. A major thing is that the damage reduction is at the very end of the enemy's damage calculation (because reasons) instead of the beginning, so it has more of an effect on low FP enemies than high FP ones.

Note that the bounce effect is buggy as hell, especially when the enemy dies.

MG36

MG36
Machine Gun ★★★★★ The Bundeswehr didn't want her, and neither should you!

Weird tiles and an "interesting" (in a Chinese sense) skill. She tries out some ideas, but the execution kinda falls flat. She has some memey uses, like being able to theoretically have near constant fire with formation jank, but those meme formations are for style rather than practical use. The mix of short skill durations, weird effects, and being a solution in search of a problem all play against her, which is a shame since she's cute.

MG338

MG338
Machine Gun ★★★★★ Shoots Until she's #1

Another Dangerdrop daughter, except not as cute as M200.

She has two big things going for her: 1. She keeps firing until she's top of the damage list (fuckin' tryhard). 2. She will shoot the enemy with the highest FP.

So if you pair her with Kord who does bigdick burst damage, she will keep firing for a while.

M1918 BAR Mod

M1918 BAR Mod
Machine Gun ★★★★★ She's alright, but she's really showing her age and also costs a lot for what you get

There was a two-year span where BAR Mod was unquestionably one of the best MGs in the game between her great skill and super good early reload cancel frames, that even resulted in debates over whether or not to use an ammo box for maximum early burst. EN skipped that period entirely and introduces her alongside one of her replacements.

Now, she's still decent at first mag fire, but she's really expensive for this, essentially making you pay for a full 4-star Mod for slightly better performance than M2HB. In the long term, she's outperformed by Lewis, who is introduced in Isomer.

So yeah... she's been replaced at half her job and she's really expensive to build up for the other. If you like her a lot though, she's not the worst Mod to spend on.

M1895 CB (Potato Digger)

M1895 CB (Potato Digger)
Machine Gun ★★★★ Good

With gear, she effectively has a 45 round mag, although shots after her "normal" ammo capacity decrease her acc while upping her FP. This may be good or bad depending on what you're shooting, but she's perfect for low or 0 def enemies that you normally throw MGs at. This is pretty good, but not particularly great compared to the more modern MGs.

A quirk though is if she moves after beginning to go into her reserve ammo, her gun will be considered "empty" and she will need to reload.

Lewis Gun

Lewis Gun
Machine Gun ★★★★★ Whenever you need armour buffs and/or second mag performance

A gun so good Crozier doesn't want you to know about her! In-game and in real life, a straight upgrade from Chauchat.

Tiles like Negev and a skill that works somewhat similarly with better uptime make her useful in the same circumstances she is, and they work well together if you need ALL the armour stacking.

…Also the replacement cinnamon roll now that M4 turned full edgelord.

LS26

LS26
Machine Gun ★★★★ Weird Niche Combo with M26 MASS

OK, so she can give ammo to other MGs in same echelon and decreases enemy stats while she's reloading. The actual interesting part is that any ally on her buff tiles gets a special buff that makes enemy hits deal 5 damage. Not "capped at 5 damage", every hit does 5 damage, period, whether it does 1 damage or 1000 damage. They take 5.

M26 MASS ignores damage of 5 or less (or 8 or less with flash ammo), effectively making her skill a "Give MASS invulnerability" skill.

Kord

Kord
Machine Gun ★★★★★ Probably will be a primary for many tryhards

She has extremely high firepower that gets reduced by her skill, with the lowest accuracy of any 5 star MG, and a mere 9 round base capacity. What you get in exchange for this is an amazing two-part skill that provides piercing without any stupid strings or conditions to start. Yes, her AP values drop, yes her FP is reduced by the skill, but this won't matter in most contexts where you'd actually want her. You start the fight with piercing and have the option to go into a single target mode that ups her acc and firepower.

Now, her stats in single target mode don't seem exceptional, but they're more than enough for general work to get her to the battles where she would be good (assuming there are any for that map, this is still on you to get her to those), and also she has the benefit of it working from the get-go without any timing issues.

Like anything with piercing you need to position her properly, or else you waste everything. This is super important because piercing is basically the entire reason you use her to begin with, so make sure you look at what formations the enemy actually has first and position her based on that. Seriously. if you're tryhard enough to use her but not tryhard enough to figure out your enemy? You're probably retarded. Don't be that guy.

Basically you want her shooting through or across enemies, such that you get as many hitbox contacts as possible.
