A-91 |
Assault Rifle | ★★★★ | Interesting, but not very likely to be used | The best dorm doll with how fucking out of it she is, and with some absolutely amazing dialogue both as general lines and in her appearance in the CT story, and a great design. Her damaged art being fuckin' bonkers is great. And that's where most of the praise is going because her performance is... well it's not dismal, but it suffers from the same 8-second ICD issue grenadiers have in general. Should that not be an issue though, her self buffs at night are actually alright, since it gives her more mileage than other grenadiers. You aren't very likely to use her though, simply because things like SOP still exist and will likely have better performance. |
AK-Alfa |
Assault Rifle | ★★★★★ | Acceptable if you still need more ARs for bog knows why | She has a very weird and complicated set of skill interactions for a role that really just wants good, consistent dakka. Has a funny combo skill with M82 (the bullpup AR, not the RF). In terms of performance she's actually not awful, but she doesn't stand out, and there are enough good ARs to use other than her. |
Agent 416 |
Assault Rifle | Special | KindamaybesortaIguess (Niche Use) | Proof that the universe contractually requires 416 to be a bitch, given trying to fix her shitty personality is what caused the problem in the first place. More hilarious is she's not even an HK416, but the Patriot Arms clone. Instead of being a grenadier, she's basically a mine layer, planting mines that seem grenade-like, but the big thing is that THEY DO NOT IGNORE ARMOR. They do still do full damage to all units caught in the blast though. She is however, pretty fast, taking only four seconds to use her skill for the first time, and having all three of her special gear means you start the battle with some mines in place already. This is potentially useful for something. |
FN Herstal F2000 |
Assault Rifle | ★★ | If you need to use a 2* AR, what the are you doing? | The famed Tactical Tuna. Will do as well as OTs-12 if you're extremely hard up on resources and need another AR immediately for whatever reason. You won't likely need it since you get the AR team early but if you absolutely must have something or it must be 2 star... |
G11 Mod |
Assault Rifle | ★★★★★★ | Red Bull gives you buffs. | Finally adjusted so she can stop being perpetually narcoleptic (sort of) through the power of energy drinks. She was already a decent AR whose weakness was that she couldn't hurt armor. Well, they solved the armor problem by doing percentage-based damage. Her damage is still affected by armor, but often she'll just do enough damage that you won't care anyway and can contribute to the fight regardless. She still has the issue of the poor uptime due to her long skill cooldown, but you should be smart enough to deal with that. |
Heckler & Koch G11 |
Assault Rifle | ★★★★★ | Good, but has godlike mod | The most German unit in the game, in that she is both exceptionally lazy and surprisingly good at her job whenever she can be bothered. The source of 90% of HK416's misfortune. Zombie movie afficionado, and owns all 26 seasons of The Flying Dead (Im not making this up.) Originally one of the most broken ARs in the game until digimind evolution and team DEFY showed up. First member of Club "MGs who pretend to be ARs." Max out her skill, point and laugh as she destroys everything. Skill has poor uptime which makes her worse than AN94 in 90% of situations (and arguably worse than STAR Mod3), but still pretty good. Her skill is completely useless against armoured enemies, which will become an issue later, when more and more armoured enemies appear. And then her mod comes and she is a fucking god because it solves basically everything. |
Heckler & Koch HK33 |
Assault Rifle | ★★★ | Core | Actually hits RoF cap at SL10 without external buffs, but she's a 3* and we're drowning in 4 and 5* RoF-selfbuffing ARs that do the same much better (AR-15 even unmodded and all the 5* ones) or just bypass RoF cap altogether (SAR-21, AUG). FWIW, better than OTs-12 even if the latter has her unique equip, but we have so many RoF ARs that even nodupers shouldn't have to bother with either. |
Heckler & Koch XM8 |
Assault Rifle | ★★★★ | Core fodder | Like her real life counterpoint, ultimately disappointment despite being not quite entirely worse than many competitors. She's not the worst grenadier out there, but in the end, both 416 and SOPMOD are better than her, and you don't need more than a few grenadiers. She DOES have a mod now. Shame that outside of a few very niche scenarios, the above statement still applies. |
Howa Type-64 Battle Rifle |
Assault Rifle | ★★★★★ | Weird niche uses | Aka 64 Shiki if you're a weeb. She's a bit of a complicated unit in that certain enemy thresholds alter what her skill does, thus making her work better vs bosses (with her colossal 90% FP boost for a few seconds) than for regular encounters. However, the timings are awkwardly short for the big boost, and the 2nd half reduces her firepower a bunch but also buffs the hell out of the stuff in front (which, if it's SR3, means more damage for her.) Note that the skill is less awkward than it seems, as it counts doll groups, rather than individuals, so 5x 5-linked enemies is totally fine, and so on. Unfortunately, they removed cool tile buff tricks so her potential of giving insane buffs is a lot more limited than before |
Howa Type89 |
Assault Rifle | ★★★★★ | Tries very hard to cater to the Japanese market. Actually isn't bad. | Ok, so she isn't actually bad. She does, however, have a stupidly long skill like a JK cramming for an entrance exam, most of which is largely irrelevant because all you care about is her damage output. Which I guess is kind of alright. Her skill has a good initial cooldown, and she's actually better than most ARs, but she won't usurp the position of the top ARs. A good pick for your B-team. |
INSAS |
Assault Rifle | ★★★ | Cores! | She's every bit as good as the real thing. By which I mean India went back to using AKs shortly after. |
QBZ Type 95 |
Assault Rifle | ★★★★★ | Not really used anymore | Kishiyo face, and a silly source of drama, because he had a bitchfest over her VA not being someone super famous. As of GFL2, this continues to be true! She caused even more drama! As a T-Doll? She's...not really that good anymore. |
QBZ Type-03 |
Assault Rifle | ★★★ | Trophy Raifu | Another 90 gems entry. Her most notable trait is "looks kinda like Python in a Qi Pao." She's not completely awful, but her performance isn't amazing enough to really recommend raising her compared to the glut of other ARs we already have, and that's a really competitive market. She's also harder to get than FNC. |
S&T Daewoo K11 |
Assault Rifle | ★★★★★ | Good | Totally not Architect in disguise. We think. Probably. A grenadier that's actually pretty ok at general use simple because she fires the grenades within a time frame where everything isn't fucking dead yet, and she fires a huge volley (1 per link) that finishes off targets if the first grenade doesn't kill them. On the flipside, firing 1 grenade per link ALSO means she doesn't reach full power until 5x linked, and also means every dummy lost is a loss in grenade power, unlike literally every other grenadier. Her main problem is literally random targeting, so the grenades may or may not land in the ideal pattern, but they're at least hitting things and you get lots of grenades, so at worst the spread is not ideal rather than wasted |
SIG MCX |
Assault Rifle | ★★★★★ | Hark, an interesting AR for once | Status warfare doesn't come up too much in GFL too much given bosses are routinely immune to it and elites get shortened status effect durations, but if you actually need status effects from an AR, the stun is surprisingly far-reaching behind the initial target, and she prioritizes enemies suffering from debuffs. |
