Nemeum

Nemeum
★★ Decent DPS. Bring along if you have room.

Your primary armored DPS that isn't a Manticore. In most cases, a Manticore is scarier, but these guys have consistent output and are also armored. And unlike Manticores, you get all 5. You can think of them as armored Jaegers that do better vs high HP enemies and same-ish or worse vs. lower HP enemies.

The big thing about them is their skills. They get bonus damage based on how much max HP a target has, and they can drive their own crit rate up as they keep firing.

They do however, apparently have defective targeting systems, so you NEED something else like a Jaeger to provide range, because otherwise they're kind of not going to spot anything to shoot.

Manticore

Manticore
★★ Insanely good for what you pay

Probably the closest to a top-end all-rounder. It has armor. It has good stats. It withstands AoEs really well due to being a single unit, and it has two very nice skills.

Now the big thing that is unlike enemy Hydras, your Manticores only have 30 armor. However, they pack the same short range explosive blast hydras do (And they have 500+ base attack power so it'll hurt masses of light enemies when they do it), and uniquely, a pushback skill with a 10 second cooldown that reduces enemy movement speed and rate of fire.

Not always the best solution, but it's the true waifu of the game.

Jäger

Jäger
Feared by Yegor, SKK Approved

Hot art (Why dont we get their proper portraits Mica? The damned Aegis do), a big gun, decent performance, low cost, no frills. She's a DPS unit that deals damage. Decent Firepower, High Acc,... surprisingly good evasion for a DPS. The skill she gets is pretty much what SWAP Jaegers torture players with. Also punches through some armor.

Good general purpose if you have room in the team.

Jaguar

Jaguar
If you need AoE for some reason and need it on a budget

Let's get this out of the way quickly. It has godawful single-target DPS, and in most cases where you need cleave, Manticores can do the job. However, they're cheap to field, you can get them easily, and some of you might not have enough Manticores. The AoE attack is surprisingly much bigger than it seems (roughly the size of a grenade's AoE) and with boosts from a Ringleader that can buff it, it's not that bad. However, it's also not especially great otherwise.

It does, however, have really long range that it can contribute to a formation if nothing else. YMMV.

Intruder

Intruder
★★★ Crazy Dog Lady. YMMV. Niche uses vs. some specific encounters.

AKA Dogmom. The Crazy Dinergate lady. The weirdo. The Ringleader who gets her head blown off in the mango version of the game before she actually gets to do anything.

Her skills are focused on throwing wave after wave after wave of dinergates at people and somehow making it stick. Good for mass warfare, or overwhelming things that cant shoot very much and have no AoE attacks.

TBH I'm not convinced she is really worth the effort to train, but there's a certain boss in Mirror Stage EX that she trivializes, so if you're into raising an entire unit just to kill one specific enemy...

Hunter

Hunter
★★★ Boss Killer Extraordinaire. Weak on fights with many enemies.

The strongest single-enemy killer in SF, get her if you can. If you want a boss dead, she can probably AFK solo it. Yes, she can 1v1 Yegor while you're jacking off to something else entirely. For this reason, her best buddies are Manticores - both for taking down pesky minor mobs with their powerful AoE attacks, and because of their skill synergy with her - their debuff works for her skills.

Guard

Guard
Not great but kinda usable in numbers

Honestly not the best tank (Think Thompson if she didnt have Invul) but can shield allies (with stacking shields) that last for a few seconds. Surprisingly has good firepower actually, so honestly better as a beatstick than a tank. Still not a great tank.

Goliath Factory

Goliath Factory
Weird Disposable Tank generator

You'd think something that shits out bombs would be an offensive weapon but nah, this thing just fires off and endless stream of Goliaths that move forward, and while their damage isn't bad, their main use is that some fights can be cheesed by throwing an infinite number of bodies at the enemy.

Oh, and don't try to use them to kill other Goliaths. It seems funny, but the enemy Goliath blows up the rest of your echelon when they meet.

Executioner

Executioner
★★★ Not awful but easily outshined by later SF releases

Strictly speaking she isnt completely awful, but you should be glad Scarecrow is the free SF Ringleader.

Her skills are oriented towards damage, damage, and more damage, and dealing it in different ways. Unfortunately she gets the short end of the stick by being a melee unit with a -range skill, meaning it is entirely possible for some enemies to walk past her and she can't do anything about it (hope you have a good backline I guess).

Her real problem is Alchemist exists, and when she comes out, basically does her job but better, mostly by tanking almost anything (she can solo Yegor without player input just by outlasting him, which Executioner cant do). Also Hunter comes right after her, and hunter is legitimately a very good unit, which discourages rolling for her on her last weeks.

There's a joke her role is to run in and die, and.... yeah it's not entirely innaccurate. She will deal damage before she explodes though. Probably. As long as enemies dont walk around her instead.

Dragoon

Dragoon
★★ Waste of good Biker-Girl Robot Art (Kernels)

She has high HP, Moderate Eva, and no armor. As a tank, you'll find she melts considerably faster than similar G&K units.

Dinergate

Dinergate
They're shitty but they're only 2 cost to put in

Remember how effective enemy Dinnergates are? No? Yeah. These aren't much better. They have surprisingly high firepower for a 2 cost unit, but they're not your go-to for anything and dying is still bad.

Destroyer

Destroyer
★★★ Anti-Area Specialist. Please don't expect her to do well vs. bosses.

SF's AoE specialist. Her skillset is simple: Shit explodes. Because explosions ignore armor, she does well vs clustered enemies, whether or not they're armored. What matters is if they're clustered together and don't move fast enough to get out of her attack range and smack her face before she can fire. Because of how explosions work, with each link tanking damage from a blast, she has immense firepower vs. anything with more than one link.

Pairs well with Manticores and Nemeums. You can argue Jaguars too, but YMMV.

Do note that she also has a use as a dragging unit if you use her via friend echelon due to her HOC mode.

Brute

Brute
★★ Kernels

So remember how when you first met brutes, they mostly kinda just died unless you had a shotgun front row? Yeah they basically do that.

Architect-NVW Type

Architect-NVW Type
★★★ High Damage, Needs someone to tank for her

Disappointingly, instead of running around in her shark costume, she instead brought a shark-themed rocket launcher to the battle for the beach, and apparently equipment to change every battle into a beachside locale. As part of her nonsense, her beach conversion also comes with a knockback wave that fires every few seconds and when stacked with staggered manticore knockback skills, can prevent some enemies from ever approaching your end of the screen as heavy gunfire picks them off.

Like her original, she has a grenade launcher, but this time she uses it on command instead of every few attacks. It does however have a weird quirk that while it has an AoE effect, it does NOT scale with enemy dummy links for some unfathomable reason, making it awkward to use for swarm combat. This is mitigated by how fucking HUGE her cut-in attack's AoE is, but it's something to keep in mind.

Her regular fire mode, a machine gun, gets stacking buffs as she attacks, which stacks up to 10 times.

She works fairly well and does great damage, but her survivability is lacking for a boss-class unit, which means you definitely want something tanky in front of her. Manticores will usually do.

Architect

Architect
★★★ Literally your only choice to break distortion barriers without a Heavy Helipad

If we had to capture her, who the fuck have we had in our holding cell all this time?

Anyway, she's an alright boss whose big thing is being a HOC that can defend itself. Unlike Destroyer, she can actually break distortion barriers, and she lets you do it without needing to capture a Heavy Helipad. Not the best choice compared to an ATW, but better than nothing and she's actually usable at the role.

She also has decent buffs for units that use explosives, but isn't really your first choice as a normal front-line combatant ringleader.
