StG-940

StG-940
Assault Rifle ★★★ Login AR. Guess.

She's a generic login AR. No one cares.

ACR

ACR
Assault Rifle ★★★★★ Looks good, doesn't quite live up to it. Not awful at least.

She introduces herself as Bushmaster ACR, except she fires in full auto, meaning she's actually a Remington ACR. This is kind of annoying. They should have just let her use her original name of Magpul Masada, seriously. It sounds cooler.

That aside, she has the potential to be stronger than AR-15! ...If you don't mind crippling the rest of your echelon's DPS to do so (Dusk has math figures in the expanded section).

She's honestly not bad, with 65% DPS up baseline and can get free damage stuff in if you have debuff effects already going, but she's not critical or anything. Basically suffers from "there's lots of super good ARs and she's not super good enough to displace the ones you already have."

Liberator

Liberator
Shotgun ★★★★ Managed to forget the most important part of being a shotgun

21 Armour and her HP isnt high enough to make up for it at a mere 231 per dummy link (compare 275 for SPAS-12!). Her skill doesn't help her tank, and while her skill kinda helps a little for mass knockback, her ammo count is awful, so you can't rely on it.

She's better than nothing, but you already get SPAS-12 for free.

Calico M950A Mod

Calico M950A Mod
Handgun ★★★★★★ Manages to somehow be even better than the original

One important thing with her mod is that she has a backwards facing tile now. This means fun times for Python fans, Nagant users, or users of any doll who prefers to be in the middle of the back row and could benefit from an attack speed buff, which happens a lot of the time. She also debuffs the enemy if the node you're fighting on is controlled by you, and buffs your attack and move speed if it isn't, but those are kind of icing on the cake for an already useful doll.

Oh, and the move speed buff is hilarious when combined with other move speed buffs, turning Hanyang Mod into a a rocket. This makes some boss fights hilariously easy as you give no fucks about their mechanics, and 60s is long enough for most battles.

You can probably leave her at Mod2, but her Mod3 equip is a suppressor equivalent with +20 evade at max. It's up to you whether that's worth it or not.

QBZ-191

QBZ-191
Assault Rifle ★★★★★ Mass Anti-High Threat Specialist

Another of Imoko's daughters, and somewhat more spoiled than the other Chinese Rifle. As far as dealing with high-threat enemies goes, she is the last word. She does AoE damage as she attacks the same enemy, can silence enemies to stop skills, and is usable in general AR formations. At full tilt vs the right formations (clusters of high threat enemies with echelons), her effective DPS outclasses any other normal AR (outstripping powerhouses like G11 and AN94 due to her AoE power). As an odd quirk, the silence doesn't just affect her targets, but all enemies on the field. She does have weaknesses (small, loose formations of tough enemies being the most obvious, so don't send her to fight tanks or gundams), but she's useful in enough situations to be worth having.

Also, because I know people are going to ask, just check the index entries for what counts as high threat for her skill. If it says "High Threat", it counts. And if you're wondering how she does targeting with multiple different high-threat targets, there's a table describing threat level each enemy has. No, I don't have it on hand. She goes from the highest threat level enemy (lol) to lowest threat level enemy that is still classified as "High Threat".

LaRue Tactical OBR (Official Boob Rifle)

LaRue Tactical OBR (Official Boob Rifle)
Rifle ★★★ Meh

Notable mostly for confusing me on which was her damaged art and which was her normal art when I first saw the previews, she was introduced at a dark time for new RFs.

Basically a 3* T-5000. The problem is of course that 3 star versions of 4 star guns rarely work well and while T-5000 sees some use dealing with armored dodgers at night, this thing doesn't have nearly enough stats to make it work. If the target isn't dodging, she does about as well as G43. Except G43 is basically free because she's a 2 star and is more likely to end up with a mod down the line than this thing.

Triela

Triela
Shotgun Special Meme Shotgun Goes Stab

On one hand, she's actually not bad in melee. On the other, she suffers from dumb mechanics (like not being able to switch to melee while reloading, which WOULD HAVE BEEN REALLY NICE). She's not terrible at the role of "melee shotgun" (she's actually quite good at it), but the number of situations where you'd actually want a melee shotgun are quite limited.

SUB2000

SUB2000
Submachine Gun ★★★ Meme login doll

Her skill is kinda neat, but ultimately, you're not going to get much mileage out of making 2~3* dolls better. Cool tiles though, I guess.

Mk12 Special Purpose Rifle

Mk12 Special Purpose Rifle
Rifle ★★★★ Middle of the Pack. Nothing special.

An RF that was originally slated to be so good that they nerfed her before her release. Unfortunately this current incarnation is nothing special. +30% each to Crit Damage and RoF is a ballpark 65% DPS increase, +/- a bit due to RoF depending on the level yours is, assuming 100% crit rate. This is... not inspiring compared to what some other rifles you already have might put out. You can fit her on whichever style RF team if you want to use her. If you want a top end version of this, use R93, who has a better version of the gimmick.

CR-21

CR-21
Assault Rifle ★★★★ Might be useful, but TBH probably not.

Has both less FP AND a lower multiplier than you would want. The targeting thing where she shoots the highest FP enemy might be cool sometimes, but it will rarely ever come up.

Jill Stingray

Jill Stingray
Handgun Special Mixing Drinks, Changing Metas

It's time to mix drinks and change formations. As a bartender, one might wonder exactly WHAT Jill can possibly do on a battlefield, and I'm sure she's asking the same thing.

Jill has a lot of firsts. She's the first unit in the game a player can use that doesn't shoot at all. She's the first one to have 8 different unique gears, and she's the first one to have a skill whose effects vary based on equipment. She's also the first one to have such an annoyingly complicated skill. The skill is everything. Her tile buffs are great, but they HAVE to be, because she doesn't contribute damage on her own. What her FP stat does is make her skill CD go down faster (except initial. Also caps at 30%, but this is INDEPENDENT of the reduction from rifle tilebuffs so yes, THOSE stack. Multiplicatively.). Unfortunately this means while she's good, how good she is depends almost entirely on how much you can use her ability to mix drinks, which btw, she can't do properly until lvl80.

Drinks are discussed in more detail in the detail page, because this is gonna be a long one.

UMP45 Mod

UMP45 Mod
Submachine Gun ★★★★★ Mod1 is an insane bang for your buck The others YMMV.

So if it hasn't been said enough, absolutely get the Mod1 the very second you can. It's 200 fragments and some cores for a fair boost in performance. Extra stats, a bit more FP buff on her tiles, a little extra HP, and an improvement to the slowdown effect on the smoke.

The real problem is her 2nd skill is janky and not extremely practical. It's a little bit of a bonus, but not likely to make or break a fight. So yeah, the Mod2 isn't great. The mod 3 however, gives her a unique equipment that goes in the suppressor slot and is basically a suppressor with better stats (+5 EVA over normal) which helps her tanking ability somewhat. Whether this is worth it up to you, but definitely get the Mod1 at least.

The rest of this is basically the same song and dance where she has top class offensive buffs that continue to remain unmatched among SMGs, so you WILL likely continue to use her.

OTs-39

OTs-39
Submachine Gun ★★★ Most notable trait is weird art stuff

A doll most famous for "we forgot to actually add an animation on her chibi for throwing her flashbang." The damage buff is surprisingly high for a free 3 star doll, but really using her means you're probably scraping the bottom of the barrel. She had some use in the early days when there was a severe lack of SMGs, but she was released on EN into an age where units like C-MS, P90, etc. exist, and in the middle of an event where C-MS was basically given for free.

Oh and I guess her damaged art is pretty lewd if you're into that.

Agent Vector

Agent Vector
Submachine Gun Special Must have all her special gear or she's basically useless

She's not the worst tank, but she's expensive to raise, and she needs her ability active to really tank. Unfortunately her base ability is meh, meaning she needs all three of her special gear equipped to be actually any fucking good. With her gear, she's acceptable, with alright uptime, but her barriers are inevitably going to fail and while the evasion boost is nice, the game has other tanks that are just as good. Still, if you must use her for some reason, there are worse tanks... provided you have the gear for her, anyway.

So make sure you have her gear equipped and leveled, or don't even bother.

MPL/MPK

MPL/MPK
Submachine Gun ★★★★ Neat but not worth it

(Not a Xecty review, take with a grain of salt)

These two units are generally considered to come as a pair due to their synergy skill that isn’t mentioned in their introduction post. The synergy skill prevents the debuffs from affecting your team. To add to that, if they are positioned horizontally adjacent to each other, for example with MPK on 6 and MPL on 5, the range of their skill radius is increased by 2 tiles. So that’s why this entry is going to be combined into one. That being said, you don’t ACTUALLY need to use them together, but I don’t really recommend it.

While very neat, they’re not very good. They have some very large issues that prevent them from doing what their skill suggests. The main problem is that they offer very little damage mitigation to help them survive. SMGs typically being tanks aside, they’re required to sit on the field for a fairly long time to get mileage out of their skill. Their paltry amount of defense means that most modern enemies will shred them in seconds. The second problem is that you’re committing two slots (typically) to run these SMGs. Two full slots of commitment is a large ask when that’s approaching the majority of your echelon slots. They don’t do enough to warrant that investment.
