There is nothing I can say about Bren Mod that would compare to the sadness of her existence. The most I can say is "Well, I guess she's got better DPS than Ameli and MG4", which is not a very high bar. Her stats go up a lot after the mod, but not enough to be worth investing your limited supply of memory fragments into. She doesn't give an armor buff, so she doesn't fit in with machine guns that give those, and she doesn't have the sheer firepower of the other first-belt machine guns, so she doesn't fit in with those either.

The even sadder part is her history. At one point, during the Reload Cancel Era, she was shitty because her reload timer did NOT cancel and she reloaded on the move, making her completely inferior to every other choice including MG4. When reload cancel was removed, there was a brief resurgence of interest because people thought "Aha, now a machine gun that can reload on the move is an interesting thing!"

...It turned out it was a bug and it was fixed, except they waited until it was an interesting feature to fix it...thanks, Mica.

Remember the old Bren v Spandau debacle? The real answer is "They both suck here, get a real MG."

Stechkin's base version already got a pass for being usable.

Her mod gives a slight increase in her capabilities buff-wise. Her passive basically tries to turn her into a sorta-DPS to go with her buffs to allies, but TBH you'd be fine leaving it at the slight increase in power Mod 1 gives.

Or Stechkin for short. Good RoF buff. Actually combos nicely with other RoF buffs if you need more since her aura shape isn't as weird as Calico's. Works well with IWS. Try to grab her unique equip, it helps.

Has a mod that makes her slightly better.

Sometimes, you wonder exactly WHAT goes into T-doll rations when she looks like that, after having the lolipops. Has a severe sugar addiction problem. Very severe. WHAT THE HELL KIND OF ROBOTS IS IOP MAKING!?

Potentially has a powerful skill held back mainly by the awful initial startup time and the fact LTX exists. On paper, her skill blows USAS away. In practice, they're functionally equivalent because you're using LTX instead of either of them anyway. When it does come up though, it's good for what it does, letting her pour knockback shots at enemies. Armor is alright (middle of the road for shotguns) and is carried by decent stats.

Good early for when you're lacking good HGs. Fodder later.

Also literally retarded.

She's... not great. Basically a worse Suomi with slightly better base evade, a rather worse multiplier, and considerably worse HP. Her tiles aren't great either. Actually worse than MP5 once MP5's milk tin is taken into account. Buffs aren't anything to write home about either. Given you should be trying to get the UMP sisters early on anyway, you're better off with cheaper tanks until you get those.

Aka AAT-52. Between an useless skill and even more useless buff tiles not worth using under any circumstances.

In another setting, another game, she might have been the plucky, determined, hard working cinnamon roll heroine. This is not that game.

She's basically AUG, but without the random fire mechanic. Which makes sense because she has an AUG. This logic doesn't work for any of the other girls, but shush.

And everyone's favourite "Security Consultant" apparently learned from the Barrack Obama school of physical security. "When in doubt, send drones to fuck it up."

As far as MGs go, it works alright. Needs her special equipment, but she has decent stats and ok buffs, especially when you consider how high her stats actually are (95 firepower with her gear, before any other modifiers) compared to other MGs (the highest base is only 102). She also has 31 base hit, which means like PKP she can use mostly critscopes during the day and potentially gives her surprisingly competitive (actual winner depends on fairies, support, and enemy targets) DPS compared to even M2HB or PK during day battles.

Surprisingly, she's still decent, but her weird niche bullshit pales in comparison to the weird niche bullshit of current day MGs.

Their best use is they give parts when disassembled. Otherwise, completely worthless wastes of ammo and resources.

A Zastava AKM turned into a sniper rifle because Saddam is a genius… or… something.

+55% damage against regular enemies is 2* tier, close proximity brings it up to 70.5%, which is okay-ish and 4½* tier, but also means you have enemies closer than you probably want to have. Her stats are also only average for a 4*.

Might be useful if you literally don't have anything better and need to pad echelons, but might as well raise an M14 dupe instead.

Her skill also changes targeting, which can be useful sometimes… but we'll eventually be getting a much better rifle for that purpose with the Liu.

She's not the worst tank, but she's expensive to raise, and she needs her ability active to really tank. Unfortunately her base ability is meh, meaning she needs all three of her special gear equipped to be actually any fucking good. With her gear, she's acceptable, with alright uptime, but her barriers are inevitably going to fail and while the evasion boost is nice, the game has other tanks that are just as good. Still, if you must use her for some reason, there are worse tanks... provided you have the gear for her, anyway.

So make sure you have her gear equipped and leveled, or don't even bother.
